March 17th St. Patricks Day of 2012

Current date 4/1/2012
Written by Jesse Alexander / downtown Springfield, at Finnegans Wake Irish Pub

This was the day that would set things into motion for the rest of my life, me and my cousin Andrea and her husband Chris went down to the Springfield MO, pub crawl to go celebrate St. Patricks Day, from that day on Chris and I have devoted our lives to Beer and intend to open our own brewery one day. About a week later we walked into a gentlemans store here in Springfield and found a Mr. Beer Home Brewing kit www.mrbeer.com , thats when we both knew that it was time to get our feet a little wet and get a taste of home brewing dumbed down. although this is a simple set up for home brewing we figured that it would be a good start for making a craft beer. as of this day we have 8 days left for fermentation and then it will be on to bottling and carbonizing the beer. Our next batch will be experimental as we work on trying to perfect the perect brew to share with the world. Following directions from the Mr. Beer Kit we have brewed up a West Coast Pale Ale and hope to have a highly successful beer, also I went and orderd 50 Hops seeds from the internet http://seedrack.com/indiv/humulus_lupulus.html?gclid=CLzpoMDB9q4CFYcUKgodPmDJvw and now we have tilled up a spot for a Hops garden and planted 10 seeds today on April first, we will be harvesting the Hops on September 18th my birthday marking it the day we harvested our first crop.
